In the list of property confiscated from the mafia, the premises of NON Riservato still appear divided by a wall that is no longer there. Reading the traces in the architecture I buildt a simple and rough hydraulic system which powers a wall made of water drops. The work emphasises the visible marks on the floor, evoking the original configuration of the rooms and at the same time reunifying them through its own sound configuration.
“L’universo di Coals goccia e tracima, ma non straripa né invade. Il confine non è un confinis, una barriera che demarca, quanto piuttosto un mediator-oris, un corpo che sta nel mezzo. Non una parete opaca, bensì un filtro diafano che attraversa, non potendo venire attraversato (pegno, trovarsi zuppi come dopo un temporale estivo). Ecosistema grondante, inoltre, esso può essere compreso nella sua interezza solo se osservato dalla strada, dalle vetrate. Entrando dai rispettivi ingressi ci si lascia avvolgere dal suono di tale architettura cinetica che mette in scena le due valve dello stabile e le sue invisibili stratificazioni. Lo stillicidio e il suo tempo lento, un frangente che richiede lentezza e di essere percorso con il corpo tutto, rimane un affare, da ultimo, comunitario: un intreccio di storie.”
